1.  PixaBay

All images and videos on Pixabay are released free of copyrights under Creative Commons CC0. You may download, modify, distribute, and use them royalty free for anything you like, even in commercial applications. Attribution is not required.

Pixabay has perhaps the largest collect of free stock photos. I have used this website in different projects and so far, I haven’t had any issues or limitations on how much free photos to download.

Do I need to create an account to download?

A simple answer is no. But you should know that as non logged-in user you’ll have to enter a captcha text every time you want to download. This can be very annoying. But the captcha is not shown to logged in or registered users.

2. Unsplash

All photos published on Unsplash are licensed under Creative Commons Zero which means you can copy, modify, distribute and use the photos for free, including commercial purposes, without asking permission from or providing attribution to the photographer or Unsplash.

Unsplash is another great place to download high resolution photos for free. Although I haven’t used this service that much (compared to pixabay), I really admire their collection and the simplicity in the download process.

How to download

Hover your cursor over the image you want to download or click the image you want to download. On the top right corner of the image, click “Download”. A larger version of the image will open on a new tab on your browser, right click the image, then click “SAVE AS”.
